Celebrate People is a humanist and spiritual care organisation. We conduct ceremonies as well as providing support and care. Our highly trained and experienced celebrants represent our values of love, kindness, equality, compassion, inclusion and respect. We believe that you two are central and will support you to make sure that your ceremony reflects and expresses what is important to you, your lives, your culture.
We simply want you to feel cared for and supported to express your love and commitment in the way that means most to you in that special moment. You may celebrate with family and friends or run away just the two of you. Whatever you choose we are there to help you have your perfect ceremony.
We are there for you from the moment you start to think about what you want for your ceremony all the way through to you leaving for the rest of your celebrations. For most that includes making sure all the legal details are taken care of in the right way and in the right place. If you need guidance on what to include on your ceremony, we are there with many ideas and support to help you choose the best words and elements for you both.
All of our celebrants are brilliant at listening and helping as little or as much as you need them to put what is you want to say into words. For some couples this is easy, others less so. Wherever you fall on that scale we will support you in your ceremony development in preparation for the main event. Symbols and customs can strengthen what you want to say and all of us can include handfasting, drinking from the quaich, sand ceremony and many more.

From the moment we met Gerrie we knew that we wanted her to be part of our day. We had both met Gerrie at the Wedding Fair in Slogans not long after we had got engaged. We spoke with Gerrie and instantly clicked. This was our first experience of stepping into the wedding world and getting an idea of what was the right fit for us. With most things, we had some discussion with regards to what was right for us, however we both immediately knew that Gerrie was the Celebrant for us. There was no question about it. Gerrie made us feel at ease from the second we had spoken with her, it was obvious the wealth of knowledge and experience Gerrie had with her background in the Wedding field.
We had plenty of chats & meetings with Gerrie which all felt so comfortable and as though we had known each other for years. Everything we wished to incorporate on our day Gerrie was fully supportive and allowed us to have the freedom to make the day our own. We always felt as though we could speak openly and honestly with Gerrie and explain our worries regarding anything Wedding related. Gerrie was a great source of information and reassurance for us to speak outloud about anything we were not sure of.
Gerrie quickly got to know us and knew the type of ceremony we both were looking for. Which allowed us to feel completely at ease knowing there wouldn’t be any pressures to be “conforming” to any wedding norms that may have been out there. The day was completely our own and Gerrie enabled that to happen from the moment we had met her.
From the minute we had confirmed Gerrie was available and able to share our day with us we had many compliments from our current suppliers, all speaking highly of Gerrie and complimenting how we had made a great choice! This only further assured we had made the right choice. Gerrie ensured that every part of the ceremony went flawlessly, from the moment the Groom had arrived to the moment we both walked down the aisle after. Gerrie also made sure after the ceremony that we were both happy and gave us lovely advice & well wishes for the future.
We felt as though we had a reliable source to fall back on throughout our wedding planning, as well as the wedding day. We were provided with many difference sources and options from Gerrie to allow us to have a starting point for our planning, which really helped as we were not sure where to even begin at times. These were all altered to be our own and personal to use, but were a huge starting point and gave us the reassurance we were on the right path to putting our ceremony together. We had multiple conversations with Gerrie to ensure that all 3 of us were on the same page & we all knew exactly how the ceremony would go.
We would highly recommend Gerrie & celebrate people to anyone who is looking for someone to take part in their wedding day/celebrations. We have never felt more comfortable and happy working with someone for such a big event in our lives!

Mo was absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. She was able to accommodate our busy schedule for meetings leading up to the big day and we had online and an in person meeting. The ceremony was exactly what we wanted and suited us to a T! We had many guests comment on how lovely the service was and Mo also stayed in contact post wedding and took some great pictures herself! Gerrie was absolutely outstanding as our celebrant for our Ayrshire wedding in August. She coordinated a lovely ceremony that was truly personal to us. She gave us complete freedom about what we included in the ceremony and in what order – making recommendations when we asked.
She was also very well organised, we had a zoom meeting several months prior and then had to fill a comprensive form which allowed her to tailor the ceremony to our personalities and needs. A quick rehersal the day before and everything was clear! She was early on the day and her relaxing nature meant we could relax on the day as well. Angus was an excellent celebrant. He guided us giving us ideas and suggestions during the preparation process, and he was very friendly and easy to chat to, and it felt like of we knew him already. We were a bit overwhelmed planning so much for the wedding in a short length of time, and Angus helped us making this part of the process much easier.
He also speaks Italian which helped in order
to translate some sections to help our Italian relatives to follow the ceremony.During the ceremony Angus was excellent, very proactive making sure he would coordinate with the musicians.
He brought a very lively and friendly energy to the ceremony, and his way of speaking is very engaging. We also felt very comfortable bringing our way of spirituality, and Angus was very open minded about our way of celebrating our ritual. He also brought a beautiful Celtic poem and blessings that gave a nice Scottish touch which is what we wanted as our families came from abroad to celebrate.
We enjoyed our marriage ceremony very much, and we are very grateful to Angus.

I saw Angus in Action at a friend’s wedding – see Doris’ review – and was inspired by the humanist approach and the way it was delivered. Angus led us through the preparations and his guidance, patience and humour allowed us to prepare a very personal, meaningful and uplifting mix of words, poems and music.
Jackie and I are in the second flush of youth – we’ve been together for over 15 years so the usual trappings and excesses mean little to us. We couldn’t have wished for more. Money cannot buy the love that filled the room that day.
I overheard a group of people talking about the evening and all were inspired to the extent they wnted to renew their vows in a humanist ceremony.
We’ll remember that day and Angus’ input forever! -

Angus was recommended to us through a friend, he was the celebrant at her sisters wedding and there were nothing but positive things to be said. Leading up to the wedding and for the big day itself we can see exactly why this was and can add on ourselves now nothing but good words!
We wanted a personal humanist ceremony, something unique to us and that gave a story as to why we had chose this and what everything that was going into the wedding meant to us. Angus gave us guidance and tips to help from the initial meeting and leading into the wedding itself couldn’t have been more useful!

My wife and I had a really good experience with Celebrate People and our celebrant Angus Farquhar. We wanted a small wedding and that’s about all we knew! Angus really did help us structure our wedding into something special. He even helped with some things we thought we’d be on our own with, like advising on a good outdoor site for our wedding. Not being familiar with the area, this was particularly helpful. If we had to get married twice, we would gladly stick with Angus as our celebrant.

Tim = best celebrant EVER!!
We booked Tim almost 2 years ahead of our wedding and from literally our first email enquiry to saying ‘I do’ we felt so at ease.
We felt slightly overwhelmed at first at writing our own ceremony at first but it genuinely was one of the best things we have done together as a couple and Tim was always on hand via email to answer any of our questions when we were unsure of anything!
Even down to the actual wedding day itself; Tim came out to meet myself, my dad and my bridesmaids and just calmly explained the final few steps because, believe it or not, after 2 and a half years of planning a wedding, your brain goes to actual MUSH when you’re about to walk down that aisle!! But Tim was there, calmly giving us all the final brief on everything before we all walked down the aisle. Then, during the ceremony, hearing Tim read our the ‘Story of Us’ is something we will never ever forget, he just animated it so well and just brought it to life to our wedding party.
Literally everyone in our wedding party couldn’t stop saying how much they enjoyed Tim’s delivery and how much they enjoyed the ceremony as a whole!
We couldn’t recommend Tim enough, go book him and have an epic wedding day like ours! 🙂

Angela Campbell (celebrant) enabled us to have the incredibly personalised wedding ceremony we had envisaged. The ceremony included some lighthearted humour (just the right dose for such an occasion) with meaningful symbolic gestures, words and music we had chosen alongside Angela. Look no further! You’ve found the perfect celebrant!
My husband and I absolutely loved having Tim as our celebrant for our wedding at Carlowrie Castle in May 2023. From the first meeting, Tim was kind, funny and reassuring – he understood exactly what we wanted for our ceremony.
Tim helped us create the perfect ceremony for us, sharing lots of examples from other couples and the most fun homework we’ve ever been given! The whole process was super easy but also made us reflect on the reasons why we were getting married, which was really nice amidst the stressful moments of planning a wedding.
The ceremony we created with Tim turned out to be so personal to us and our guests actually enjoyed it! So many of our friends and family commented that it was the best ceremony they had ever been part of and they particularly loved our personalised vows and hearing the story of how we met.
Tim also gave us lots of helpful info and guidance, such as how to get our marriage certificate in preparation for the wedding and what to do afterwards. This seems like a small thing but it made a big difference!
We could go on and on but honestly we can’t recommend Tim highly enough!

Aileen Massie was our celebrant for our wedding back in June and she was fantastic. Aileen was so helpful in the run up with any questions and she was a joy to work with planning the ceremony. We met with Aileen to tell her our story and what we wanted to include in the ceremony (a reading and handfasting). We also had the chance to adapt/personalise our vows from some examples Aileen sent.
On the day our ceremony was perfect. Aileen kept us at ease and conducted the ceremony with the perfect mix of humour and sincerity. Since then, we’ve had so many of our guests tell us how much they enjoyed it and not just the humanist ceremony but Aileen herself. The wonderful Maureen (Mo) married us in July this year and she was absolutely amazing! From the very first meeting she made us feel at ease, no pressure and we just knew she was our person for our special day. She was fantastic throughout with helping us plan the whole thing. She was totally on board with getting our two boys involved again with absolutely no pressure at all on them, a very relaxed approach! (Mo had also previously met up with us in softplay so that the boys would be comfortable on the day, such a fab lady!) So many people commented on the day of how it was the most beautiful, touching and personal wedding they had attended.

Unfortunately due to COVID and living abroad we had to postpone our wedding twice.
Tim has always been available to support us and reassure us. He is patient and clearly communicates with you on each step of the process.
I (Steph) am English and haven’t had much experience of a Humanist service but Tim made sure we had the best experience.
We loved writing our ceremony and allowing our guests to have a more intimate experience.

Rod and I were joined together by our celebrant Aileen Massie.
Aileen was amazing, she took the time to get to know us and our family before conducting our wedding.
She listened to our stories and saw how we were with our kids and as a family.
She make us feel relaxed through out the whole process of preparing and organising the wedding as well as on the day. (She even looked after the groom when she thought he was going to pass out🙈).
Aileen has a warm, caring and loving personality which was exactly what we wanted.
She had empathy and patience when we discussed our mothers who were no longer with us.
Aileen went through what would happen at the ceremony she was very adaptable and changed things to suit what we wanted. She would give us advice, support and guidance by providing poems and vows that would suit our crazy personalities.
Aileen was able to tell our love story with all the up and downs that we had been through in a funny, loving personal way. She made everyone laugh, cry and feel involved.
She made it personal to us and not just the bog standard same old traditional weddings everyone has. She made our wedding day UNIQUE .
Our ceremony was very family orientated, and it was a joining of families not just 2 people, she was able to do this by involving everyone.
Aileen felt like family by the end of our organising, it felt like it was an auntie that was marrying us and not a celebrant the we had met a few months before, and that meant the world to us.
Aileen introduced herself to the catering staff and helped them with the timings of the day, to make it go smoothly, she helped to welcome the guests, arrange the signing table and made sure everything was in place and that there were no hiccups.
All the guests commented on what a beautiful ceremony it was and how spot on Aileen had captured us as people, and how she was such a lovely, caring, and funny lady.
I look back at our wedding pictures and all I see is a Family coming together to celebrate love and happiness, and Aileen made this happen.We can’t thank Aileen enough for making our day the best day ever.

We got married in April 2023, at the University of Glasgow Chapel, with Susan as our celebrant. From our first meeting with Susan, we knew we had found someone who would make our ceremony the one we had always dreamed of. Susan was also incredibly accommodating with access requirements for our ceremony, providing scripts in advance so we could share with a BSL interpreter we had hired for our D/deaf guests.

We were married by Maureen Waterson in May 2023. Mo was absolutely great on the run up to the big day with meetings and emails on how exactly we wanted the day to be. She was keen to understand the atmosphere we wanted for the day and came up with suggestions that really did make the difference for the ceremony.
On the day of the wedding she then stepped up to “Legend” status ! We had a bit of a document disaster, everyone’s worst nightmare (including Mo’s !). Mo remained cool and calm throughout and somehow managed to sort out the chaos so the wedding could go ahead. She went above and beyond on the day and the biggest credit was that most guests enjoyed Mo’s amazing ceremony blissfully unaware of the stress that had come before.

We are a couple of French lovers, and had the pleasure of renewing our vows in the magnificent valley of Glencoe, under a magnificent sun! It is a privileged moment, which we shared with our grown-up children. If our ceremony was so rich in emotions and will remain in our memories as one of the happiest events of our lives, it is because the chance of our research led us to Tim Maguire. Our many exchanges (in French, our English is very bad), his precious advice and his proposal of “homework of love” contributed to the success of our day. The “duties of love” are an excellent basis for writing our vows” and are a real gift for a couple who have already gone through many years together. They give the opportunity to take the time to reflect on our love, and to talk to each other with an open heart. What will we remember from our renewal of wedding vows? Lots of laughs, unique moments shared with our children and some friends, beautiful encounters (Tim and Rich for the bagpipes), a few tears of joy, and irreplaceable memories. Thank you Tim, it was a pleasure to meet you and thank you for the delicate attention to have a tree planted for this occasion. My husband and I really enjoyed working with our celebrant, Tim Maguire for our elopement in Scotland. As American citizens, there were additional steps and paperwork for us to complete prior to our ceremony in order for it to be recognized legally. Tim’s guidance over Zoom and emails were very much appreciated over the months of planning we had. We especially enjoyed Tim’s easy going personality and charming sense of humor! The lovework he had us complete was very helpful in the writing of our vows and it was such a sweet, romantic treat to share with eachother leading up to our day. Speaking of our day, Tim made everything so easy for us by connecting with our photographer to confirm last minute logistics. Funny enough, Dustin and I really didn’t know the exact location of our elopement up until the time we got there- Tim and our photographer picked the nicest spot in the area for us and it was perfect! Afterwards, Tim even sent a note saying he donated a tree in our name for charity which was such a nice gesture. Thanks Tim and our witness Susie for being a part of this day we will never forget!

Gerrie married my husband and I at The Clachan Inn, St John’s Town of Dalry in early December. Gerrie was amazing from the very moment we first made contact, she was so patient, understanding and ensured we got the personal wedding service we really wanted.

We had Leigh Ferguson look after us from start to finish, guiding us from initial ideas of a ceremony through to something that would fully encompass our Scottish and Jewish heritages. She also helped us on the practical side, as we were getting married on the island that she lives on and she went out of her way to advise us of potential issues with the ferry services and supported our plan B should we not be able to get off the mainland for the ceremony. On the day we did manage to get to the island of Cumbrae and we sheltered in a pub opposite our marriage location with Leigh acting as a lookout for the break in the weather that would allow us to go and fulful the ceremony on the rock. Even with a gale blowing Leigh carried out our ceremony with appropriate dignity humour and candour and we cannot think of anyone better who would support our vision from start to finish and ensured that the day was all we planned and more.

I can’t believe how lucky we were to have Sharon Campbell as our wedding celebrant. From our initial Zoom conversation, I knew that she “got” us and understood what we wanted from the ceremony, and that followed all the way through to the day itself. We had to change humanists due to the pandemic but we’re very glad we did as Rhona was incredible! Working with Tim Maguire was so easy. From the first time we spoke (albeit via Zoom), he was so informative. Explaining all aspects of Humanism and the many ways that we can construct a Humanist ceremony. It really fits with our beliefs and were excited to start work on the project.
Tim’s email correspondence was so helpful to start us on our journey. They gave all the knowledge we needed as well as assistance along the way on when to do certain tasks and even example ceremonies that we could use for ideas.
When it came to the big day, Tim was such a calming influence, making sure nerves were ok and conducting the ceremony with humour and professionalism throughout.

Could not have have asked for anyone better. I first met Sharon when she did a lovely service for my mum’s funeral. I emailed her on the off-chance to see if she would have availability for my wedding, but by luck, she did.
From start to finish, Sharon was magnificently helpful. She walked us through the process and what we needed to do for legal purposes, and gave us our “love homework” to ensure that our ceremony was personal to us. We got married on the 20th August 2022, and Sharon was absolutely fantastic. We, and our guests, found the ceremony to be perfect! Just what we had hoped for. It was personal, different, light and intimate. Gerrie Douglas Scott carried out our wedding ceremony at Seamill Hydro in July. We were keen for a laid back, fun ceremony and not to go OTT with the ‘lovey dovey’ stuff . The planning and the time taken in the lead up to the wedding with Susan helped us put together a ceremony very personal to us, even including a short naming celebration for our baby son.

Mo Waterston was our celebrant on 5th August 2022 at the Eglinton Arms Hotel. The preparation work was done over various meeting using face time , txt and emails. This worked perfectly for myself and Ashleigh, we both have busy jobs and three children , so the flexibility and choice that Mo gave was perfect.
Mo’s personality and patience particularly for me , the groom was very welcome. I had a surprise for my daughters and when my worries and panic set in Mo was there to calm my nerves. She even sent a fantastic voice note the night before my wedding to reassure me that she would help make it work.

When our wedding plans got cancelled with the pandemic, we felt desperate to get married as soon as we could. We decided to reshape our ceremony and to contact a humanist celebrant. However, there was a catch, it had to be a celebrant capable of speaking in French and English.
Gerrie Douglas-Scott was recommended to us and it has been an amazing experience from the beginning. She was enthusiastic about any idea we had and she was willing to help us get married on the most iconic square of Glasgow during lockdown. Gerrie married my wife and me on the dunes at Prestwick Beach on 7th May 2021- this was a covid moved wedding and we decided in the end that getting married was most important. She worked with us every single step of the way to get the most out of our day, and took into consideration the fact that physically at the ceremony it would only be us two, herself and our photographers who were also our witnesses. Prior to the date, we all went out to the dunes to scope out the best spot – and Gerrie blessed the area with us. On the day, we zoomed the wedding out to family and friends, and so the three of us were microphoned up and ready to go.
Gerrie really went above and beyond making sure that our guests felt the love that was all around us that day, even though they couldn’t be there. She made the day truly magical. A year and a bit on, and we’re finally getting to celebrate in person with everyone! Gerrie is going to do a further blessing at our reception to bring everything together and we really cannot wait. She really is one of the family now having married my brother & sister in law, and also my cousin, as well as holding a beautiful funeral ceremony for my late mother in law. She is fabulous. I don’t know where to begin and I cannot recommend Tim highly enough. We have been to a few weddings that Tim has carried out the ceremony for and knew that we loved how well he always came across. Tim seems to make every wedding personal and the way he speaks about each couple shows how much he gets to know each and everyone one. After having to postpone our day Tim couldn’t have been more accommodating and understanding and made the process of rescheduling with him very stress free and simple.
In the lead up to the wedding Tim kept in touch, sending us emails about how best to go about writing our ceremony, checking in to see we were ok with things and giving us lots of tips/ideas of how we could write it. Drafts went back and forward and Tim would always give us sound advice but he wasn’t forceful with this, which helped to keep our ceremony very personal to us.
On the day of our wedding Tim was very informative, he kept my husband calm and made sure he was clear about how the ceremony would proceed. We have two small children and Tim was very relaxed about them coming in and out of the ceremony and wondering around. He made us both feel at ease and relaxed, neither of us ended up feeling nervous. The ceremony was funny, touching and well delivered, Tim was adding in comments about what was happening on the day. It was honestly perfect and we couldn’t have asked for more from a celebrant. Everyone has commented both on the day and after about how lovely our ceremony was and how fantastic Tim was.
We both cannot thank Tim enough for everything you done in the lead up and on the day our wedding, if we could do it all again we would and we would always have you as our celebrant.

We met Susan and Gerrie at a wedding Fayre in 29 Private Members Club. We started chatting about our fur babies and instantly felt a very lovely connection. We got in contact soon after to ask Susan if she would perform our ceremony.
Susan was so friendly, warm and genuinely took an interest in us. Covid hit and we had to move our wedding and also the venue but thankfully Susan was still available on our new date.
We had a few zoom/FaceTime calls with Susan and we all got to know each other a little. The whole experience of creating a ceremony so personal to us was incredible. It was very exciting reading through the first draft of our wedding ceremony and we were very overwhelmed at how personal it was. We loved it!! It was what we wanted and more.
On the day of our wedding, Susan came to chat to us beforehand and I was very nervous. Susan was a very calming influence and really supportive.
The ceremony itself was even more perfect than we could ever have dreamed. A great mix of love, laughter and just so personal to us as it captured our relationship so beautifully. It was truly magical and every single person who attended our wedding all mentioned Susan and how fantastic she was.

From the minute we met Tim we knew he was who we wanted to conduct our ceremony for our special day!
Our wedding had been postponed twice due to covid, but Tim kept in contact with us over the years until we finally got our day!
It was slightly daunting thinking that we had to put together our own ceremony, however Tim was on hand the whole journey and we also bought his book which was a massive help when trying to make our ceremony as special as we wanted it to be.
Tim is an all round amazing guy, who is very calming. The way he conducted our ceremony was very professional but also has everyone laughing.

Our first meeting was very laid back and Lenny walked us through the way he approaches putting a ceremony together and keeping it very personal and unique to us. Over the years of planning Lenny stayed in touch and kept us up to date of what paperwork we needed, he also gave us fun homework to complete and his emails were always very fun and upbeat.
Our wedding day was 20th November 2021 and it could not have been more perfect. Lenny was fantastic on the day and the entire ceremony was very much our words and extremely funny and enjoyable. We felt very relaxed and throughout the day it was continually commented on of how nice our ceremony was.

We were married by Lenny Love (bonus point for perfect name!) on 18/09/2021. From the first day we met Lenny he put us at ease and explained everything clearly to us. We were given homework to do in preparation for the ceremony which was personal and we could really tell Lenny loved reading them. On the wedding day Lenny made Liam feel comfortable while he was waiting at the alter and the ceremony was personal and hilarious. We had several people tell us it was the best wedding ceremony they’d seen. Really can’t thank Lenny enough for a perfect day!

After having to postpone our 2022 wedding, our original humanist recommended Susan. Susan was amazing to deal with, even during tricky covid teams. She was so supportive and friendly and helped us with everything we needed to know. She went above and beyond and nothing was ever too much for her. Susan came to meet me before I walked down the aisle and her friendly personality and kind manner immediately put me at ease. It was a privilege to hear her tell our story. She is such a wonderful speaker. I could listen to her talk all day. So many of our guests commented on how lovely our ceremony was and how fantastic Susan was. We completely agree. We just received the video of our ceremony and it is so lovely to watch back. Even better than I remember at this time, and this is all thanks to Susan. Sharon was easily one of the top highlights of our wedding day – one of the things everyone tells us made our day so unique, personal and special.
We wanted a service and wedding that was really relaxed, personal and just a bit of a laugh. Nothing too serious, or soppy, just us and our friends and family having a bit of fun. She nailed it.
From the first meeting she made us completely relax and tell her exactly what we wanted and she gave us exactly that.
Her service was hilarious. Sharon is an absolute scream – because that’s what we asked her to be.

Gerrie made our ceremony so special and we couldn’t thank her enough. David and I got married on December 12th 2021 at Stucktaymore Estate and Gerrie had no hesitation even although it was a distance to travel. From start to finish, she made our preparations so personal and gave us ideas for example, hand fasting, which was a lovely touch. She took time to get to know us and that was reflected in our ceremony. From being on hand to help with my dress even before the ceremony started to making our ceremony both light hearted yet personal, we couldn’t have asked for any more from Gerrie and for anyone who is thinking of having a humanist ceremony, you don’t need to look any further. SUSAN DOUGLAS-SCOTT – She married just recently on 29th October 2021 in Ayrshire. Susan could not have made pre-wedding process any easier for us. Especially during postponments, lockdown and multiple policy changes. Her knowledge with keeping us on the right path and keeping us calm, yet excited was a relief. Susan was always ready at the otherside of zoom or email to answer any questions. She encouraged us to make the ceremony completely personal to us as a couple and gave advice on areas we struggled with. Susan conducted the ceremony with a very warm and welcoming manner and took our excited ring barer (our dog) in her stride. I loved how she added in her own comments on our ‘how we got together’ and ‘engagement story’ told to our guests. Susan was there in the morning to welcome my arrival, update and reasure me on the event ahead. She even acted as my personal seamstress just before walking down the aisle! I’ts the little thing’s she done that I loved, like ensuring we stand in a way to interact with our guests, reminding my bridemaids to keep my dress photo ready and general smooth running of the cermony!
I don’t know how she kept up with it all during a pandemic but she done a fantastic job and always with that big warm smile. We felt we instantly connected when we were able to meet in person and this carried on even through our zoom meetings. We both recommend Susan, words can’t express how much. Just make an appointment to meet and you will understand why.

Susan stepped in for us when our original celebrant could no longer make our date due to ill health and she did a fantastic job. She was incredibly proactive and helpful from the start, got to know us over Zoom (ah, Covid…) and provided resources and inspiration for things we may want to include – making the task of writing your own ceremony fun, personal and less daunting. She also kept us on track and on schedule! On the day Susan was wonderful, explained all proceedings clearly and helped both of us be at ease with what we had to do. Her attention to detail was brilliant and she really got into the spirit of our ceremony, checking any pronunciations before we started and delivering our in-jokes in style. So many of our guests commented on how unique the ceremony was and how much they enjoyed it – it even inspired some friends to write their own ceremony too! Susan is a lovely person and we will always fondly remember our amazing and personal ceremony, and would have no hesitation in recommending Susan or Celebrate People to anybody looking for their own Humanist ceremony.

Sharon was recommended to us a by a friend and after our initial meeting we were delighted she was available to marry us in April 2020….and for multiple postponed dates after that until we finally tied the knot on Fingal in October 2020. Sharon came up with various ideas to try to make it happen as the goal posts kept moving and even offered to do our ceremony in her home at one point.in the end, even with just 5 guests, our wedding on Fingal was not diminished in any way and Sharon conducted a beautiful ceremony, capturing our humour and personalities perfectly. We especially liked the ‘surprise’ element of what we love about each other and incorporated the idea into our reception which we had a year later. It was a really enjoyable experience contributing to our ceremony and Sharon interpreted our input seamlessly into the end result. It was such a pleasure having Sharon as an integral part of our day and her patience and humour helped us through the earlier frustrations. She also took some pretty good photographs for us as well since we had postponed our official photographer until the reception!

From the moment we met Sharon we knew she was exactly the kind of celebrant we were hoping for.She exuded warmth, humour and fun and really listened to us when we spoke about what kind of service we would like. We wanted the ceremony to be relaxed, non traditional and funny – Sharon provided all of that and more!
Like so many couples our plans were derailed multiple times due to covid but she was such a positive constant throughout every rearrangement. Her optimism, kindness and love was so reassuring and such a source of light in an otherwise really uncertain time.
Sharon felt like a friend from the very start and she brought such a personal touch to our day. In the lead up, communication couldn’t have been easier and she made sure we were happy with every bit of the script. This captured all we wanted to say and be said and her beautiful ideas (like the surprise 5 reasons we love each other) were such highlights.Needless to say, the day was pure joy from start to finish and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house! The ceremony was one of our highlights from our wedding and Sharon was such an incredible part of that.

We always knew that we wanted to have a Humanist ceremony for our wedding and Susan was the only celebrant we truly wanted to marry us!Our plans (like many others over the last two years) changed numerous times and Susan supported us all the way.
From the very beginning of our engagement, Susan was great at explaining to us all that is involved with actually getting married and planning a wedding (there was a lot we didn’t know!).
Susan was incredibly accommodating of our hectic planning and changing of dates. Her previous events planning experience was so invaluable and she helped suggest alternative venues and suppliers (we ended up getting married at the Botanics in Edinburgh which was her suggestion), and she always helped us make sense of and manage the ever changing restrictions.
Susan could not have been more helpful in offering support and guidance on our ceremony vows. She gave us the gentle encouragement we needed to enjoy the “homework” process rather than let what was happening around take over the moment; and we could not have been more appreciative of “our story” she told on our wedding day.
On our wedding day, she was wonderful. A friendly and familiar face to keep us calm and chill any nerves. She has the ability to float around making sure that everything is in place and going to plan without you knowing it, and even welcomed guests and helped them get settled.
We had the best day and could not have hoped or wished for more. It meant so much to us both for Susan to marry us and make the whole day so personal and different to anything we had ever been to before. We loved every minute!
We both could not thank Susan enough for her support and involvement in our wedding day or recommend her more highly to other couples.

We met Mo by chance, my wife and I were due to be married in June 2020 and due to the pandemic, we had to change our date and our original celebrant couldn’t make our new date. Fate has a way of working and we both believe that it worked very much in our favour here and we were so happy that Mo was the person that married us.
From our first Zoom Meeting, due to the restrictions at the time, she put us both at ease, she got right away what we wanted the wedding to be like and from that moment on we both knew that we had made the right choice. She kept in regular touch with us, as it wasn’t clear until about 2 months before our wedding if we would be able to have it, she was very understanding, helpful and just an ear to bend when we had a million and one questions and couldn’t find anyone to turn to for the answers. When we eventually met her face to face, it was like meeting an old friend, she was just amazing and listened to us about our ideas for the day and provided some ideas on what would and wouldn’t work, which was greatly appreciated as we had no idea!
On the day of the wedding, she was amazing, she came to see us both before the ceremony to make sure we were ok. Our ceremony was everything we wanted and more, everybody commented on what a lovely ceremony it was, and how it was just ‘us’ which was what we wanted, it was beyond our expectations. She was so well loved on the day that when our friends got engaged a few weeks later, their first call to us was for Mo’s details as they both were desperate for her to marry them as they both loved our ceremony, we can’t wait to see you in action at their wedding, it will nice not to be the ones that are nervous wrecks!
We both can’t thank you enough for all your support in the stressful time leading up to and on our wedding day, in the covid world we live in a few spanners were thrown our way but you helped us navigate these, we truly believe that fate worked her magic here!

We couldn’t have been happier with Libby. Such a smiley, bubbly personality. All of our ideas for our wedding ceremony were incorporated and encouraged. Libby guided us through the process of planning impeccably and also prompted us to do things that were legally required for example the applying for and collection of the wedding license. She brought humour and fun to every meeting along with the seriousness and reverence that such a thing as our wedding deserved. Libby was very keen to include our wee boy in proceedings which we were more than happy with. The personal touch, experience and support that Libby gave us was second to none. We LOVE Celebrate People. On our 4th attempt, we finally tied the knot with the help of our wonderful celebrant Maureen Waterston in October 2021. Due to covid our wedding was postponed several times and Mo supported us at every stage of this. She offered words of support and comfort during all the lows and shared our delight and enthusiasm through all the highs.
When it came to designing our ceremony, she was the perfect architect. She offered advice and guidance but also encouraged our own creativity and we ended up with the a romantic, funny and unique ceremony on the day. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the ceremony was, how it was presented and how well it represented us.

Libby married us on the hillside in beautiful Glencoe. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to marry us. She adapted easily to our location even although she had to trek a bit!
