The Weaving Shed

Nestled amidst Citation’s towering columns is Glasgow’s best kept wedding secret – The Balcony. Cluny Castle
How do you fancy saying “I do” in your very own castle, surrounded by expansive landscaped parkland? Located in Aberdeenshire, the 15th century Cluny Castle really does have the wow factor, from its elegant tree-lined driveway, to its sweeping lawns and towers and turrets.
The castle boasts its very own chapel, which comes complete with a private courtyard entrance to welcome your guests. You’ll love the atmospheric stained-glass windows and dark oak pews with room for 100 guests. Directly below the chapel you’ll find the Tenants’ Hall, a beautiful location for your wedding reception while more intimate weddings can be hosted in the splendid dining room and drawing room. Cromlix
Our head of editorial Katie was lucky enough to visit Andy Murray’s famed hotel back in December and it was just magical. Arriving just as it started snowing, a welcome fire was crackling in the grate of the entrance hall and fairylights peeked out from all the Christmas garlands that adorned the grand staircase and mantlepieces.
Cromlix has its own consecrated Episcopalian chapel which comfortably seats 36 for a wee wedding and can also host non-religious ceremonies. But if your numbers are larger, the tastefully furnished drawing room seats up to 80 for a ceremony or 50 for dinner. Couples hosting wedding for 50 guests or more, or with an evening reception, take over the entire hotel on an exclusive-use basis, with meals for up to 80 being served in the restaurant.
