Situated near Dunkeld in Perthshire, Murthly Estate boasts stunning surroundings with woods, rivers and hills making a picture-perfect setting for your wedding. Originally built as a royal hunting lodge, the castle is still a private family home, inhabited by the same family since 1615. The beautiful and extensive walled garden was laid out in the 1660s and retains many original features including the picturesque summerhouse, fountain and yew and box hedges, and also features Murthly Castle as its backdrop.

Larger weddings can be accommodated in a marquee on the garden’s lawn while more intimate weddings can take place among the colourful flowerbeds. Murthly Estate has a licence for civil wedding ceremonies and humanist weddings can also be held in the garden.

This former country “pleasure palace” of the Stuarts was favoured by Mary, Queen of Scots and it’s easy to see why.
