Atmospheric wedding highlandwear styled photoshoot at Riddle’s Court, Edinburgh

Looking forward to when weddings are back to their best, a number of Edinburgh’s wedding suppliers came together to create this gorgeous highlandwear photoshoot.

They chose the historic rooms of the city’s Riddle’s Court as their venue, a site that has played host to countless happy couples and even Stuart royalty over the years.

Emma from Gordon Nicolson Kiltmakers says, “Looking forward to such special days returning in full swing soon, we see a groom suited and booted in a Highland Mist tartan handmade kilt with accompanying fine tweeds and highlandwear accessories, along with a groomsman sporting hand tailored trews, and a showstopping bride with hints of highlandwear incorporated into her traditional look.”

Featured alongside Gordon Nicolson Kiltmakers are Kudos Bridal, LoullyMakes, Emma Wilkinson Kiltmaker, The Stockbridge Flower Company and Trinket Pixie Jewellery.

The shoot was captured by and features photography and modelling duo Rose + Julien and Nathan Ross Photography.

With so many stylish and contemporary options just which look would you choose?

Capturing the essence of a wedding reception in full swing, Julien the groom wears a Highland Mist handmade kilt from Gordon Nicolson Kiltmakers (from £595), styled with a navy tweed jacket and waistcoat (£495) and dress sporran (from £220).

We love Rose’s simple and elegant A-line gown from Kudos Bridal.

How gorgeous is the custom Liberty print lining on Julien’s jacket?

But if navy tweed’s not your thing or doesn’t match your wedding colours we also love this Lovat green tweed version (with waistcoat from £495).

How do you trew?

If a kilt’s not for you but you still fancy a Scottish flair to your wedding outfit we love these Highland Mist bespoke Military trews (starting from £295).

Team them with a stylish tweed jacket and waistcoat, or you could add a luxe feel with this beaut velvet dinner jacket (pictured top centre).

And it’s not just the men getting in on the kilt action.

Rose’s stunning handmade bridal kilt in duchess satin with embroidery and embellishment by Emma Wilkinson really comes into its own twirling around the dance floor.

Style it with this Highland Mist shawl from LoullyMakes for a proper Scottish celebration!
