A picturesque engagement shoot around Loch Lomond
Jasmine and Teddy always planned to marry in Phuket, Thailand but when they had to deal with some “wedmin” in Scotland they jumped at the chance to do an engagement shoot here.
They teamed up with photographer Shem, of Strad Photography and took to the hills for their stunning shoot.

Jasmine and Teddy first met at the University of Sheffield when he was completing his doctorate and she was studying for a Masters.
They shared the same research laboratory and office and Teddy was very warm and welcoming when Jasmine first arrived.
Skip forward to a holiday in South Africa when Teddy proposed in Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden with a ring from Diamond Heaven. How romantic!
In the run-up to the wedding Teddy was working and living in France while Jasmine was in Liverpool.
“We wanted to get registered for marriage in the UK before the wedding in Phuket but in England, law states we could only give notice at our local register office, and we needed to have lived in that district for the past seven days,” explains Jasmine.
“This was a little inconvenient since Teddy was mostly in France then.”
Realising that Scotland didn’t have the same law they decided to register for marriage here and took advantage of their trip over the border to do a pre-wedding photoshoot.
Perfect match
The couple’s first priority was finding a location with beautiful outdoor scenery and a photographer who would capture it perfectly.
They wanted to visit Loch Lomond and loved Strad Photography’s other outdoor photoshoots.
“We then approached Shem and got his recommendations where we could go,” says Jasmine.
“We also expressed interest to do a little hike for nice views and to create beautiful memories.”
On the day, the couple had fun getting dressed up with Jasmine donning a stunning red gown and having her hair and make-up done professionally by hairdresser Maureen Crolla and Gemma Hughes MUA.
Neither Jasmine or Teddy claim to be particularly “good” in front of the camera but they praised Shem’s professionalism.
“He was able to make both of us enjoy it and relax,” remembers Jasmine.
“He knew exactly where to take us, and spent time setting up the right lighting and props.”
Most importantly Shem made the pre-wedding shoot fun.
“We were both more focussed on enjoying the scenery and the hike and having a good time together,” smiles the bride.
“The photos turned out very candid, natural and very ‘us’.
“We loved the whole experience and the outcome.”
