From the runway to the aisle with Alan Hannah’s 2021 collection
Sharp clean lines always feature heavily in any Alan Hannah collection but for the new 2021 collection, designer Marguerite has evolved the brand’s signature strong architecture into pieces which are amazingly light and wearable.
Inspired by the catwalk, she has taken the collection in a number of exciting new directions. Expect to see low Vs and high slits as well as some really fabulous sleeves.
According to the label, “Marguerite has been working on some really interesting voluminous sleeves which give a nod to the 80s but are also completely reinvented.”
We have all noticed that more and more brides are looking for dresses with eye catching sleeves reflecting current catwalk trends.
Expect intricate beading and beautiful embroidery.
And it’s not just sleeves stealing the limelight. Marguerite has brought the old classic rouching style bang up to date, softening it with the use of light fabrics like organza chiffon and Georgette.
Check out just a few of our personal faves below…
Azalea
Made in crisp taffeta, Azalea’s puff hi lo skirt, cinched waist, structural bodice and those sleeves make for a real head-turner.
Erika
From the exquisite hand-beading on the beautiful organza bell sleeves to the oh-so-simple flowing chiffon skirt, this gown is a lesson in romance.
Jenny
Bell sleeves again but this time in a cute spot tulle for a real sense of playfulness. Sating all our boho bridal needs.
Kristen
With layer upon layer of silk organza and ruffles Kristen just screams w-day glam.
Mila
Remember that embroidery we were talking about? We’re in love with the stunning examples on Mila’s sleeves that elevate a simple slim-fitting gown into something really special. We can imagine dancing the night away in this beaut.
Sandria
On its own Sandria’s a gorgeous sleek Mikado ballgown. Add this simple little caplet and it’s transformed into a bridal outfit fit for a modern day princess
Tulsa
The love affair with pink continues with the gorgeous, embellished embroidery on this sleek column gown.
Yuki
So stunning we had to include two pics! Don’t be deceived that Yuki’s your average column dress. Lace-up straps add a cool edge and why would you not go for the overskirt? One dress, two looks. Perfection.
Zinnia
The 80s inspiration is on full display in ‘Zinnia’ with those amazing, encrusted shoulder pads. This might just be our favourite in the whole collection.
