‘I do’ diary – Sophie and Chris find their perfect wedding photographer

Sophie and Chris are in the thick of wedding planning for their wedding at Venachar Lochside next August and they’ve now ticked another major task off their list – the wedding photography.

But just how easy is it to find the photographer for you when you’re planning your Scottish wedding from London?

Sophie shares all with us…

“The photography style is one thing we felt we couldn’t compromise on and was something we would look back on in years to come,” explains Sophie.

“We always knew we wanted a dark, moody style and something to capture nature, rather than your generic posed photos.”

The couple started the hunt on Instagram and Sophie quickly turned to one photographer couple she’d followed for years; The Caryls.

She’d always loved their style but unfortunately, they weren’t able to photograph the couple’s wedding and recommended Eve and Artur of Eve & Art Stories.

“We’re so glad they did,” says Sophie. “They are the lovelist couple who truly capture the beauty of nature and love.

“Their style is very moody and organic.”

Although they’ve not been able to meet Eve and Artur in person, a Zoom chat confirmed they were the ones for them.

“We had a long chat with them and are so excited for when we get to meet them,” says Sophie.

“They also asked to see our cats over Zoom, so we knew they were the people for us!”

Sophie and Chris have decided to forego an engagement shoot as they don’t feel it’s something they particularly want and they’re not giving their photographers a setlist of images or group shots to cover.

“It’s not really the style of our photographers or what we’re going for,” explains Sophie.

“We’re going to leave it in the trusty hands of Eve and Artur as they absolutely know what they are doing.

“Although we have discussed that we would like to include as much of the surrounding nature in our photographs as possible.

“So lots of photos of us by the loch and in the surrounding forestry.  

“We are already so excited to see the magical images they capture.”
