Romantic styled shoot at new venue Rosebery Steading

Set in the Midlothian countryside, the spectacular 18th century Rosebery Steading has undergone a complete renovation, transforming if from a 200-year-old “farm-toun” into something altogether more luxe.

The steading, with its versatile entertaining space and accommodation, sits alongside Rosebery House and Barnbougle Castle in the Rosebery Estates family and, keen to show off this newest venue to its full potential, a top team of wedding experts were invited in for this gorgeous, styled shoot, captured by Adrian Houston.

Louisa Kerr, head of sales and marketing, says, “The Rosebery Steading renovation has only recently been completed”.

“With no events in the diary in the short term due to Covid restrictions, we wanted to showcase the venue to inspire clients who have already booked with us and create a bank of images for potential clients interested in booking the venue.”

The two expansive barn spaces, which cater for up to 100 seated guests, were set up to feature the standard look alongside some upgrade options which incorporate different lighting styles, upgraded linen packages and beautiful florals.

Louisa says, “The venue is finished to a high standard, but we hope that couples will put their own stamp on their big day”.

“The venue is often described as ‘rustic luxe,’ but I think the steading would suit anything, from a traditional wedding to a more vintage or bohemian look”.

“We love it when a couple bring along their Pinterest mood board to a meeting and share their ideas and inspirations for the day.”

Earthy mosses and heathers with trailing foliage and green hydrangeas create a soft rustic look in this shoot but a similar set-up can be achieved whatever the season as Gemma Bain from Planet Flowers explains.

“The specific types of flowers may change depending on the time of year, but to create the soft romance of this set-up we would use large, blousy flowers,” she says.

“This will always give you the abundance and softness you need to recreate this look.”
