Effortlessly sleek

When it comes to a classic and timeless bridal look, clean lines and exquisite tailoring will never go out of fashion.

Hollie from June Brides Glasgow loves the new Portia gown from Casablanca Bridal’s Le Blanc collection.

Made from perfect satin, the simple fit and flare silhouette can be accessorised with a minimalistic cape.

“We love this gown because sometimes less is more, focusing on the shape and cut of the gown and letting that speak volumes while showing off the bride’s figure,” says Hollie.

“Minimalist fabric choices paired with dramatic accessories is a timeless trend that any bride can appreciate.”

“We love ‘Adrienne’ by Pronovias,” says Lauren at Opus Couture.

“We love the sleek style, sophistication and glamour whilst still remaining elegant and timeless.”

“I think this wedding dress is stunning in all its simplicity,” says Mette at Freja Designer Dressmaking.

“There is something so lovely about a really simple style in very exclusive material.

This is made in a pure silk crepe, and we have made a few different variations on that with silk satin edges, halterneck, and
so on, but it remains a beautiful simple line made to fit the individual bride’s figure.”

Let’s split

This season’s love of the leg split is one we’re totally behind.

Add a contemporary twist to an otherwise classic look with this on-trend style.

“We’ve chosen dress 2203 from Jesus Peiro’s new Textures collection because one of our favourite bridal trends for 2022 is a split,” says Lisa of Melle Cloche.

“We love the whole Textures collection because it keeps within Jesus Peiro’s signature minimal style but adds touches of fashion with splits, puff sleeves and oversized bows.

“This dress would suit a bride that wants a timeless, almost classic bridal look but still with a fashion edge.”

“I love the sweeping movement of the fabric over the structured bodice of the Halfpenny London ‘Okotan’ corset and skirt to give an effortless glamorous look, while the thigh high skirt split retains chic elegance thanks to the luxurious weight of the draped silk crepe,” says Rachel of Rachel Scott Couture.

“Perfect for the style-conscious bride looking for a tailored, city wedding look (and potentially one you can wear again since it’s separates!”

Royal associations

High necklines are officially in and look super-sophisticated.

Emulate Grace Kelly or even Princess Anne with this beautifully demure style.

“Our favourite trend for 2022 is the high neck or mock neck dress,” says Huda of Pan Pan Bridal.

“This style of neckline has always been popular amongst royal brides and celebrities.

“However, it is becoming such a popular look with our brides as it is so elegant.

“It looks amazing on tall brides but can also work with petite brides.

“Getting the height of the neck collar right and a sheer fabric or lace collar is key for achieving that elegant regal look.”

Bohemian revolution

Will we ever tire of the boho trend?

Not likely and bridal designers are still serving up beauties for every whimsical bride’s need for a dress to kick back in and dance (or skip across a beach or meadow).

“Where Covid has brought with it a lot of negativity, it has also seen a rise of on-location and outdoor weddings,” says Mirka of Mirka Bridal Couture.

“Our dress ‘Rosa’ – part of our With Love, Mirka collection – is perfect for a bride seeking comfort and bohemian flare on their wedding day.

“It has a perfect juxtaposition of two different lace styles, with the contemporary burnout style rose pattern adding a touch of romance.”

Oscar Lili’s ‘Grace’ dress was inspired by the 2022 bridal trend for experimenting with colour and prints.

Designer Liliana tells us, “We have a few blush and champagne colour options in our collection but we wanted to create something completely different for
our 2022 brides who are stepping away from traditional bridal looks.

“The Grace dress is an effortless and ethereal style for those Boho brides out there who are planning a unique wedding ceremony; perfect for rustic, woodland or garden settings.

“We absolutely love the bold wildflower embroidery which creates beautiful contrast and texture – so romantic!”

“Our ‘Casablanca’ dress is a gorgeous modern bridal gown with a subtle bohemian twist,” says Georgia from True Bride.

“The combination of the V-neckline and soft A-line shape skirt creates an elegant, flattering silhouette, and the opal beaded belt cinches the waist to really enhance the figure.

“The all-over metallic lace and waterfall-style cape elevate this style and allows the bride to keep it simple and let the dress do the talking or go all out glam and dress up to the nines.”

Make a statement

ICYMI sleeves are having something of a fashion moment – fact!

You can keep them small and subtle if you like but we’re more of the opinion go big or go home.

“We have chosen sleeves!” says Heather at Anne Priscilla Bridal.

“These may be oversized, soft and floaty or statement. We think the bigger the better.

“We also have detachable sleeves in store meaning you change your look throughout the day and have sleeves for your ceremony, revealing a more party look for night.

“We have in house alterations that can create a bespoke sleeve to any dress that has an armhole too”

Pearls will forever add a touch of class to your wedding outfit, and you can go all-out pearl-encrusted dress or stick to just hints in your accessories.
