The power of love on show in Jenny Packham’s 2021 Collection
You can always rely on Jenny Packham to bring a bridal collection that teams a sense of effortless glam with exquisite attention to detail.
And the 2021 collection is no different. Inspired by the “undefeatable power of love,” the designer claims this is her most important collection yet, created for brides having to reimagine their wedding in light of the pandemic.
The result: a stunning edit of beautiful fashion-forward gowns that you’ll be desperate to try on and take for a twirl.
And while the 2021 collection was imagined in the most trying of circumstances, it’s been executed with Jenny Packham’s signature attention to detail, sequin by delicate sequin.
“The collection was designed and created against a backdrop of the pandemic,” she says.
“A time when weddings were cancelled, and appointments not kept. It was a challenging season to create.
“Whilst our factories were sporadically open, their focus on more important matters – staying safe – our team at the studio, creating the designs, making the patterns and artwork for the embroideries was smaller than ever.
“For me it felt like the most important collection I have ever made.”
This edit carries a real sense of fun. Expect capes, puffy tulle sleeves and exquisite embroidery, perfect for brides continuing to plan their weddings in the face of restrictions.
Packham says, “Confident that brides the world over will have the imagination to reinvent the way in which they marry, turning limitations into fashions and rather than forsaking their special day, they would begin to tailor it around circumstance – I found I had the inspiration I needed.
“So, rather than claim I found my ideas in trips to faraway places or hunting vintage treasures in Parisian markets – our true inspiration this season came from the undefeatable power of love.”
Here’s just a few of our highlights…
Anice
With its bell sleeves, low V-neck and stunning floral embroidery this is pure whimsy.
Elspeth
Those encrusted shoulders and endless split sleeves elevate a simple sheath into something truly regal. And to feel like a true queen simply add headband.
Torey
For a truly romantic gown with a playful twist we’re loving Torey and her frothy tulle puff sleeves.
Isla
From the fun to the sleek and chic, Isla’s pared-back glamour needs no extra detailing.
Coira
There’s nothing understated about Coira. We’re loving the Gatsby-inspired art deco design here.
Glyn
There’s something ethereal about this bejewelled cape. We love how the sequin trim brings a little bit of sparkle right to the edge.
Gala
Bold appliqué and structured sleeves team up in this gorge gown. And we’re loving the headband’s nod to Elizabeth Taylor’s wedding look for her (first) marriage to Richard Burton.
Anemone
What’s a bridal collection without a princess dress or two? We’ve fallen for Anemone’s twist on the traditional with its flowing delicate sleeves and beautiful embroidery.
Seona
Saving one of our faves till last, the combination of bold tiered skirt, off the shoulder neckline and 3D applique make Seona a true showstopper.
