The very first Your Scottish Wedding magazine is out this month!

Happy 2022 from all the team at Your Scottish Wedding!

I don’t know about you but the start of a new year always fills me with excitement, ready to get stuck into a fresh new project.

If that project for you happens to be planning your wedding (congrats from us!), then what better way to start the year than by throwing yourself into it with the first ever issue of Your Scottish Wedding to help?

We’ve been working away on our new baby for months and we can’t wait to share what’s inside the magazine.

Here’s just a small hint of what’s in store…

1 Are short engagements still possible?

The wedding planning landscape has been transformed by the pandemic with two seasons of celebrations effectively being condensed into one.

With that in mind, we’re asking if it’s still possible for newly engaged couples to pull off their dream wedding within a year when venues and suppliers are in such demand.

2 Sustainability matters

Sustainability is another theme at the forefront of our minds and we’re passionate about providing couples with ideas to help make environmentally sound decisions when it comes to their big day.

Our columnist Rachel of Rachel Scott Couture explores how to shop sustainably for your wedding gown.

Then the need to source sustainable flowers is also at the forefront of Jill Sutherland at Flora Alba’s mind.

3 The inside scoop

We’ve also turned to the experts for wedding planning insight with celebrant Mary Docherty of Fuze Ceremonies and June Brides Glasgow owner Hollie Connelly sharing their days.

Plus there’s 10 other couples’ weddings, with more style and décor ideas than you can shake a stick at!

4 All the fashion

What’s better for a midwinter pick-me-up than looking forward to a big celebration and poring over all the latest bridal and groomswear trends?

We’ve got the latest looks, top designers, plus not one but two beautiful styled photoshoots for more inspo.

5 The big interview

This issue we chat all things shoes with bridal shoe designer extraordinaire Charlotte Mills ahead of the release of her new collection.

6 Venues

In Your Scottish Venues you’ll find pages of gorgeous spaces throughout Scotland in which to exchange vows and celebrate your wedding.

Writer Claire Muir takes a look at just some of the regency venues that would make the perfect backdrop to your own Bridgerton-inspired wedding and we’ve also rounded up all the new spaces and places with brand new offerings for your big day.

7 Spa guide

We know it’s dark and cold outside so what better way to get through January than to plan an indulgent spa day with your other half or your friends?

Head of editorial Katie Bletcher’s been checking out the newly refurbished Yu Spa at Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa in Dundee, while we’ve taken a look at some of the country’s other great retreats.
